The Worrywort Song

We are the Worryworts,
We worry night and day,
We are the Worryworts,
We will not go away!
Our names are Sid and Doris,
We want to come and stay,
With our two little horrors,
To see you through the day.
We called our daughter Bev,
She’ll help in ev’ry way,
Our son, we call him Kev,
They make a blue sky gray.
Don’t look upon the glad side,
And each day will end in tears,
Just think about the sad side,
We'll play on all your fears,
If you’re feeling troubled,
List’ well to what we say:
Worries shared are worries doubled
Don’t let ‘em spoil your day.
We sing of dark and doom,
We add to dread 'n' doubt,
Where Hope we bring in gloom,
And kindly Light keep out.
Listen to we Worryworts,
Nothing can go wrong,
Fill your head with sad thoughts,
And sing the Worrywort song
When there’s a silver lining,
Say Boo! and shout aloud,
Don’t cheer, just keep whining:
And look for that black cloud!
Please tell Sid all your fears,
Hearken to our advice,
Let tears flow free, my dears,
It gets worse in just a trice.
Nothing in this world is fair,
Life’s not worth a curse;
But Sid and Doris really care,
And work to make it worse
So call in the Worryworts,
And we will lend a hand,
Put an end to happy thoughts,
Spread sadness ‘cross the land
Just sing this song,
You can’t go wrong:
"We are the Worryworts,
We worry night and day,
We are the Worryworts,
We will not go away"
